Chaga is an anti-ageing, immunity-boosting powerhouse, packed-full of beta glucans, adaptogenic betulinic acid, high levels of antioxidants and skin-protecting melanin.

We personally love it for both its grounding effect and the action it takes on our guts.

We use Chaga chunks to make delicious medicinal teas and potions at home. We occasionally sell a Chaga Chai packed with this super shroom and other powerful spices.

Chaga is part of folk medicine in many parts of Europe, China, and Canada. It's an incredible adaptogen because of the Betulinic acid it contains, packs a universe of antioxidants and is the highest natural source of melanin.

This Chaga is wildly harvested in Siberia.

What can you use Chaga for?

  • Increase energy and resilience
  • Strengthen immune system
  • Reduce stress and fatigue
  • Support gut and immune system
  • Manage inflammatory conditions (e.g. psoriasis).

How to use it?

Break the chunk into smaller pieces. If you can't don't worry you can use the whole chunk.

Place the chunk or half the pieces in a saucepan full of water.

Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer.

You can have it when the water turns a dark rich color. Usually around 20 min.

By simmering the Chaga we are extracting the water-soluble compounds (beta-glucans).

If you want to make a richer medicinal concoction keep them on a low heat for 24-48hours.

TIP: make sure the water doesn't run out or the mushroom and pan will burn.

Once finished strain and place the Chaga in a container in the freezer. You can use it for your next batch and as many times as possible until the liquid runs clear.
